The opening ceremony of ANKAEL WOMEN'S COOPERATIVE and Ankael Atelier, which was established within the scope of TOBB Ankara Women Entrepreneurs Board's Engürü House Project, was held with the participation of Ankara Chamber of Industry President Nurettin Özdebir.
Birten Gökyay, Chairman of TOBB Ankara Women Entrepreneurs Board: As a result of the realized "Engüri House Project", which we realized with the support of Ankara Development Agency and ASO in order to produce souvenirs unique to Ankara, we all dreamed of establishing a cooperative. I would like to thank these 7 heroic women under the presidency of Gökçen Togay for making our Cooperative dream come true. I believe that this cooperative will be a good opportunity to prove that it is the right model for development together with other atelier and producer women's cooperatives had already established in our country. I would like to thank our ASO president and his team, who gave us strength with their support during the establishment phase, Altındağ Municipality Mayor Mr. Veysel Tiryaki, vice president Yunus Keleş and his team.
To Develop, We Must Increase The Number Of Female Entrepreneurs!
Ankara Chamber of Industry President Nurettin Özdebir: "Dear Female Entrepreneurs Board members; as a country, we have a very young and dynamic population, but unfortunately, we cannot adequately introduce our women, who make up fifty percent of it, into business life. We need to increase the number of women entrepreneurs. Our Women Entrepreneurs Board is also working on this issue. As Ankara Chamber of Industry, we carry out various activities to increase the number of both women entrepreneurs and young entrepreneurs. If we want to get rich and develop, we have to make our women entrepreneurs too. They also present a good example of this today. Our women are raising our future generations. It is impossible not to care about them. As men, we cannot pour water into the hands of mothers. Our female entrepreneurs and our female friends working with their spouses also work more disciplined and self-sacrificing in their jobs. We desperately need their support as Turkey. I believe that this cooperative will set an example for other women and will grow exponentially. Right now they are may be 7 people, in the future they will be 70 people. I believe this initiative will continue for many years to come.”
After the speeches, a ribbon, and cake with ANKAEL logo were cut, followed by a pleasant celebration with the founders of the cooperative, members of the women entrepreneurs’ board and guests.
